The operating principle of a rotary drum dryer is to dry the material by tumbling it within a rotating drum under the action of dry air.

A rotary drum dryer is an inclined horizontal rotating drum with a sealed structure consisting of a support system, a transmission mechanism, a drum body, and a feed and discharge mechanism.

The drum is slightly tilted horizontally to facilitate the passage of material through the dryer using gravity. As the drum rotates, a lifting mechanism picks up the material and throws it into the airflow, maximizing heat transfer efficiency. When processing lumps, the dryer’s rotation further rounds and smoothes the granules.
