NPK Compound Fertilizer

NPK compound fertilizer is a common blended fertilizer that contains the three main nutrients required for plant growth: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These elements are essential for healthy plant growth.

Nitrogen (N) : It supports leaf growth and is a key component of plant protein and chlorophyll.

Phosphorus (P) : It aids root development, flower and fruit formation, and energy conversion.

Potassium (K) : It plays a vital role in essential plant processes such as water regulation, disease defense, and photosynthesis.

NPK compound fertilizer production line

NPK compound fertilizer granulation process involves mixing nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) and forming them into granules through physical or chemical methods. This process not only facilitates fertilizer transportation and use but also ensures uniform application and slow release.

Wet granulation is the most common granulation process for NPK compound fertilizers:

Mixing : Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other raw materials are first mixed according to the recipe at a mixing station.

Mixing : The nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, along with any fillers and additives, are mixed in the appropriate proportions to form a fertilizer mixture.

Granulating : Water is added to the mixture and then placed in a granulator for granulation through physical extrusion or agglomeration. Common granulating equipment includes drum granulators and disc granulators.

Drying : The wet granules are dried in a dryer to remove excess moisture.

Cooling : The dried granules are cooled to reduce the temperature and prevent agglomeration caused by high temperatures.

Sieving : After cooling, the granules are screened to separate acceptable granules from unacceptable powder or larger particles.

Coating : Conditioners and other additives are added to the acceptable granular product or the color is altered.

Packaging : Acceptable granules are packaged for sale or use.
